TUNES TUNES TUNES
This is my page about music, well, MY musical interests really.....or something like that....

Okay, well, to start.....I like a lot of music. I like SKA, punk, hardcore, rapcore, grunge, new rock, alternative rock, hard rock, 80s rock (some), classical, techno, jungle, trip hop, hip hop, house, some dance, jazz, swing, some blues, some folk...uhh, contemporary Christian (a couple), and uhh, some more stuff too, I just can't name it off the top of my head as of now, oh yea, oldies are fun, so is disco, and uhhh, hippie music too. Yea, I think thats it......
well, now, hmmmmmmmm
I go to quite a few shows, heres a list o bands I have seen, and what I thought of the show

Counting Crows w/ Engine 88 - Counting Crows played a 110min set, THEY WERE AWESOME, Engine88 was okay, BUT, not all that great live. This is one of my favorite shows!

LIVE w/ Luscious Jackson and Manbrake - Another of my fav shows, LIVE is awesome!! They made me laugh, cry, slam, and sing, all at once!! I love them to death. Manbrake, that was killa stuff to start a pitt to, I liked em a lot. To be honest with you, L.J. was good, BUT, I didn't listen to everything they did, so, I'm not sure how true my opinion was.

BUSH w/ Veruca Salt - I literally and honestly went to this show, for, VERUCA SALT (YeS, I do so think they rule, and their music too! =P Bush wasn't as bad as I thought, (they played mostly stuff from 16stone, BUT, I got removed from the floor (to the outside) for 'overexcessive crowd surfing' tell me people, is their such a thing?!!?! anyways, Bush was okay, but, I don't necessarilly recomend them.

Mustard Plug w/Telegraph and Parka Kings - This was my very first live SKA show, and I think it was the best show i've ever seen. Mustard Plug is w/out a doubt the best ska band alive, and Telegraph and Parka Kings both put on a GREAT live show. This has been my favorite concert to date (as of this second in time).

Mustard Plug w/Mad Butchers, SpeaKeAsies, Bounty Hunters, and the Impossibles - This show was also GREAT. 5 good ska bands, AHHH, do you dance all nite? or do you dance all nite? In any case, the Impossibles RULED, so did the Mad Butchers. SpeaKeAsies weren't that bad, but, not all that good either, Bounty Hunters were good, more on the punk side of ska. Mustard Plug played.........................completly............*sigh* awesome. Do they ever NOT play awesome?

INSYDERZ w/LunaFish and some chick - Well, this show meant a lot to me. I don't really remember the first chick, cuz I spent the time talking. LunaFish, nah, I didn't really get into them either. Insyderz, I LOVE EM, they brought be back onto the path of God's will, and they are AWESOME. Not only are they great christian ska, if I had to define 3rd wave ska, I'd give em Insyderz, (and Mustard Plug). Well, I loved that show.

PRIMUS w/Limp Bizkit and Powerman5000 - Okay, this was my very first rapcore concert, and well Powerman5K ROCKED. Limp Bizkit put me in a great pitt. but, the nonrapcore, crazy, snazzy, keen, band, PRIMUS, was the highlight of my nite. From 'Jerry was a RaceCar Driver' all the way to 'Too Many Puppies' the show rocked my butt. Primus will rock your butt too, just go see em.

Supertones w/Audio Adrenaline and Jennifer Knop - Okay, so, the Supertones weren't headlingin, and Audio A. was, but still, Supertones were why I went......Jennifer was great, she's like, loud loud folk, and its great to listen to. Audio A put on a GREAT live show. of course, SUPERTONES were AWESOME. Can I even tell you how great they were? I loved em to death!! Dancin in the seats cuz the ushers wouldn't let ya skank in the aisle kinda sucked though....but hey, its all good fun isn't it?

Limp Bizkit w/Jimmy's Chicken Shack - K, well, I got depressed and left in the middle of this show, before Limp Bizkit played..........Now, well, notice how I haven't said a band has completely sucked yet? Well, Jimmy's Chicken Shack BLEW. They sucked, pathetically. I might have just not been in the mood for rapcore, or maybe they completly blew, one of the two. I'm betting on the later.

Now, I'm going to list the bands I saw and adored at summerstock (free outdoor concerts in Grand Rapids).

Our Lady Peace - Totally awesome, great great great band.
Moist - Also a great band, they really made me move.
GuFs - I LOVE THEM SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.
Naked - They aren't all that good live......I saw them twice.
Cowboy Mouth - KILLER live. One of the best live bands I've seen.

Now these are local bands that I've seen once or twice or more times (some at summerstock, some at festival, some at shows).

Bounty Hunters - I've seen them a bit, good Ska/Punk. Aren't all posers*
Skeptics - Good local ska, not posers*
Misled Youth - Hardcore, disapointed me a LOT. Not completly fake.*
KraBs - YOU GOTTA LOVE THE KRABS
Addictives - This band became shit. Forgot what punk rock meant.*
Mad Butchers - I love them, true to the name of SKA.
JFK - They are unique punk/skaish/coreish. Really good, but kinda fake*
P.R. Stunt - Solid Punk. Helped start Punk scene in GR, not fake.*
Slamdunk Rancor - They broke up, but they were GREAT sXe hardcore. Weren't posers.*
Big Wheels - Not that bad, kinda good partial rapcore, kinda hardcore.
Relays - Good ska, comin out with a disc soon. Solid 3rd wave band.
Private Eyes - They came, they died. I thought they weren't that good.....but I never saw em play w/their bassist.
ThunderChicken - Gosh I love these guys. part of AWALL (I think thats how ya spell it.)
Alien Genocide - GREAT GREAT GREAT. I LOVE THEM! (part o AWALL).
Minus Matt - part o AWALL, but, I guess, well I haven't seen them yet......
Reload - Preppy meets alternateen. They kinda blow, a lot.
Troll for Trout - Good slower new rock. Solid band.
19 Wheels - Geez, I like these guys quite a bit.
Milkhouse - another good local new rock band.
Domestic Problems - I LIKE THEM A LOT, muy muy bueno!
Monkey Chuck - also muy excellente!
Sophia Ramona - Good solid band. new rockish.

Now these are a couple punk/hardcore/ska bands that I've seen 'fore at assorted shows.

the Casualties - Great true to the name punk. Definatly worth seeing.
Square one - Also great true to the name hardcore. I liked em quite a bit.

* = I have a problem with the Grand Rapids punk scene. Its all fake. They claim unity, don't know what it means. They claim 'Punk Rawk' never once saying anything worthwhile. They are mostly fake, except for the Krabs, and P.R. Stunt (I have to see them again to make sure they didn't lose their realness). The scene is going to shit.
